Wormleysburg, Pennsylvania: Historical Postcards
The postcards below serve two purposes.
One, they are a glimpse into a small
Pennsylvania community at the turn of the 20th century,
and two, they are a
glimpse into my family's history in that small community.
More about my search for the house/store I remember from my childhood.
Wormleysburg is just west of Harrisburg, across the Susquehanna River.
More about Wormleysburg Borough
The correspondence is between my grandmother Hazel Putt,
her cousin Verna Miller and Verna's brother Walter Miller.
Hazel and Verna would have been about 20 and Walter was about 14.
More about the Burroughs and Putt families.
Each card is presented with both front (left column) and back (right column). The cards were quite obviously cut at some point for their stamps. Click on each card for a larger PDF version or get in touch with me if you wish to have a copy of the original scan.
